Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has approved a new incentive scheme aimed at encouraging residents to scrap their old vehicles. This initiative will offer tax rebates ranging from 10% to 20% for individuals who choose to purchase new vehicles and scrap their older ones, with the aim of reducing pollution from outdated vehicles.

Under this scheme, buyers of non-commercial CNG and petrol vehicles can receive a 20% tax rebate, while commercial vehicle purchasers will get a 15% rebate. Diesel vehicle buyers will benefit from a 10% rebate. The government plans to issue an official notification with more details soon.
To qualify for these benefits, individuals must obtain a certificate of deposit by scrapping their old vehicle at a registered facility, which is required during the registration process of the new vehicle within a three-year period.This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to promote environmentally sustainable practices and improve air quality in Delhi.
