On April 22, 2025, a devastating terrorist attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam region shook the nation. This incident, one of the deadliest in recent times, targeted innocent civilians and has left the country in mourning.
What Happened in Pahalgam?
Pahalgam is a beautiful place and called by mini switzerland where many people go to enjoy the mountains and nature.
But on April 22, 2025, at around 2:50 in the afternoon, terrorist came and started shooting at tourists. They were from group called The Resistance Front.
Because of this terrorist attack, 28 people killed. Some were from India, and some were from other countries like Nepal and the UAE. More than 20 people got hurt.
Why This Attack Was So Bad
This terrorist attack in Kashmir was one of the worst attacks on normal people in a long time since the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Pahalgam is usually a peaceful and happy place for tourists, but now people are scared.
The attack has also escalated tensions between India and Pakistan, with Pakistan-based militants suspected of involvement.
What Did the Government Do?
After the attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the attackers will be punished. He said this kind of violence will not be allowed.
Amit Shah, the Home Minister, went to Srinagar to check on the situation. The police and army started looking for the people who did this attack.
They also opened a helpline to help the people who were affected by the attack in Kashmir.
What Did the World Say on terrorist attack in Kashmir?
People from all over the world were shocked. Leaders from many countries like America and Russia expressed their condolences and condemned the act of violence. The United Nations and European Union also said that everyone must work together to stop terrorism. This terrorist attack in Kashmir made people from other countries feel very sad too.
