Ashok Leyland reported a 10% year-on-year decline in total vehicle sales for September 2024, with 17,233 units sold compared to 19,202 units in the same month last year. This drop was primarily influenced by a significant reduction in sales of Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV) trucks, which saw a 16% decrease.

Ashok Leyland Sales Drop 10%

The sales figures for the M&HCV trucks segment reached 8,644 units, down from 10,266 units in September 2023. Although the bus sales in the M&HCV category experienced only a slight dip of 2%, totaling 2,433 units, the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment also faced a decline of 5%, selling 6,156 units.

On a broader scale, Ashok Leyland’s cumulative vehicle sales for the fiscal year 2024-25 are at 89,517 units, reflecting a 2% decrease compared to 91,175 units during the same period last year. Notably, the M&HCV bus segment showed resilience, achieving a 26% growth year-to-date with 13,255 units sold.
